At CWP you will find a large range of single commercialstructures in different types and sizes. Our polytunnelsensure the best climatic conditions for your crop andprovide protection from extremes of weather.

The straight sides and gentle curve of the hoops permitsfull access right up to the sides of the polytunnel for bothman and machinery. All hoops are completely straight for the first 1.4m from ground level. This givesthe best possible clearance for access to plants and assists ventilation where side rails are set at 1.4m,rain will not drip in. We can also bend the structure with a straight side of 1.8m or more. If you have spe-cific needs, please contact our office to discuss in detail.

    The straight sides can be

    supplied higher or lower upon

    request of customer.

    Euro Multispan Structures

Colm Warren (Polyhouses) Ltd believe in using the best quality materials available

On any exceptionally high sided structures, the loadingfor standard multi span design is pushed to the limit, and so box section legs and trellis replace the roundsteel gutter posts to reduce deflection.

With straight sides between 2.5 and 4 metres high and a ridge height up to 6 to 8 metres, the heat build-up is far less than conventional structures and makes a much more versatile structure. The constructionof the Euro Multi Span offers maximum ventilation and can be supplied with single or double sided ridgeventilation. These structures lend themselves to better roof ventilation systems and internal shading /thermal screens. We offer a variety of Euro Multi Span options with bay widths starting from 9.6m to 12.8m. It is recom-mended that you call our office for a competitive quote or speak to our sales manager to discuss your

    requirements.

Depending on the type of structure yourequire, the main steel in our StandardMulti spans is 60.3mm diameter with

2.0mm wall thickness fully galvanised toZ35 standard. This means it has a muchhigher bending resistance than standardmild steel tube and is therefore stronger inuse. All our steel is galvanised internallyand externally for maximum corrosionprevention. All fittings are zinc platedand galvanised.

    GABLE END OPTIONS CROP BARS

Crop bars are used for hanging crops from andalso provide increased strength for the structure. In our Euro range we use trellis for increasing thestrength of the structure & supporting the crop &

    internal screens etc.

AccessoriesAnti-Hot-Spot Tape: Anti-hot-Spot Tape is placed on the hoop of a tunnel prior to the polythenesheet being fitted. It acts as an insulation between the metal and the polythene to prevent the build up of damaginghotspots and prolong the life of a polythene sheet by approximately one year. Sizes available: 30mm x 9m long

Clear Polythene Repair Tape: This tape is UV stabilised which makes it resistant to weather-ing and sunlight. This tape is used to repair small tears in your polythene cover. It is transparent so it does not ob-struct light transmission. Sizes available: 50mm(2) x 25m long, 75mm(3) x 25m long, 100mm(4) x 25m long

Ground cover: The material suppresses weed growth yet is also air and water permeable. Manufacturedfrom top quality UV stabilised black polypropylene tapes woven together to produce a dense material, but is stillwater and air permeable. Ground cover staples (Optional):Simply insert a staple every metre to secure the groundcover in place. This eliminates flapping or side movement of the material. Cost saving & easily removed and re-used.

Irrigation: With larger areas being covered by polythene and the increasing value of water, it is important toensure that a cohesive irrigation system is installed. The rainwater collected from the valley gutters can bestored in a water tank and supplemented by mains water supply or borehole. Watering plants can be a time-consuming job for the grower. We can supply semi or fully automatic systems that take the strain off watering. Overhead Irrigation systems can only work effectively under a certain length. For longer structures the system must be

split and designed with a double header pipe so that the irrigation runs on either side of the headers. We can design andadvise on such systems. We can supply different types of sprinklers - whether you prefer pin nozzles, mist atomisers etc.

Drip Irrigation: This is suitable for Hanging Baskets, Pots, Tomato bags, etc. The kit consists of LDPE pipe work and allthe fittings required to drip irrigate baskets. If desired, automatic irrigation can be added at a later stage.

WHEN BUYING IRRIGATION, PLEASE ENSURE YOU ARE COMPARING LIKE FOR LIKE !In other words, make sure you are getting the same quantity, size and quality of product.

    Ventilation Options

Lift Up Side Ventilation:This system works by lifting the polythene curtain from the ground levelto the middle rail to close opening. Permanent netting is fixed to theoutside. The main advantage with this system is that the vent opensfrom the middle down and allows air in from the top first, sheltering theroots of the plants. However the polythene curtain tends to billow overthe plants when open and collect water, making closing the ventdifficult.

    Lift up Vent

    Roll-Up Side Ventilation

    Fan Ventilation

Roll-up Side Ventilation:The system works with the polythene curtain being wound round adrive tube, which is turned by a small gear box unit. This lowers andraises a polythene curtain from the ground up to the middle rail. Thecurtain is considered to be in the closed position when the drive shaft ison the ground. The gearbox is manually driven from within the polytun-nel. Permanent windbreak netting is fixed to the middle and ground railon the outside. This is a very neat and tidy system in operation.A similar version is available with a motor.

Roof Ventilation:As heat rises to the top, the best form of ventilation is via an opening inthe roof. We can supply a manual or motorised version of a roof open-ing system. This type of ventilation is best suited to large multi spanstructures. The roof ventilation offers maximum ventilation and can besupplied with single or double sided ridge ventilation. It is advised thatthis system is thermostatically and automatically controlled through alink with a wind speed monitor, as the gear mechanism on the systemcan be damaged if the vent is left open in high wind situation.

Fan Ventilation:An Exhaust fan with automatic shuttersair displacement varies from13,000 m3/h to 44,000 m3/h. This fan has multiple applications inHorticulture, industrial and poultry application. The electrical motorsare available in single phase and three phase. The motors can also beused in conjunction with a evaporative cooling element. Belt driven 6bladed impellar.

What are you buying? Our commercial range of Greenhouse structures vary according to the sector we are supplying the structuresinto. Each sector has its own requirements & specifications to be met. We use box steel section to round steel

tube. The structure would be manufactured to a high specification to ensure a stable & strong construction. Onour quotations we would specify the steel construction type. For example in the small commercial range of polytunnels we use a large diameter, high tensile steel tube manufactured by our steel suppliers to a Z35 specifica-tion. This means it has a much higher bending resistance than standard mild steel tube and is thereforestronger in its use. The main steel components has a diameter of 60.3mm & a wall thickness of 2mm. This extrawall thickness adds strength & durability to any structure. All our steel is galvanised internally and externally formaximum corrosion prevention.

GALVANISED FITTINGS:All fittings used in the construction of our structures are zinc plated & galvanised for longer life & to prevent corrosion.

FULL GABLE ENDS: What does this mean??We quote & supply FOUR UPRIGHTS & CROSS BARrather than the standard goalpost gable ends whichconsist of 2 uprights only. (See drawing). The Full Gable End would apply to structures from 6mwide and upwards. We quote & supply the Gable ends in either box steel, tubular steel, aluminium and/or timber (Any t imber usedin our structure is fully vac pressure treated and kilndried. The choice of material is based on the customers

requirements in the greenhouses structure. These de-tails are discussed with the customer to suit their budg-etary demands.

High Grade 800G Polythene:The polythene supplied by CWP is UV stabilised 800 gauge, guaranteed for five years against breaking down in the sun.Patilux*Unrivalled light transparency, particularly in the PAR (Photosynthetic Active Radiation) which is effective for photosynthesis,i.e. 400-700nm which is necessary for plant growth. The film also has excellent thermal effect that limits the drop in tempera-ture during the night or in poor sunlight conditions. The film is also supplied with anti-drip additive as standard, the additive is

on the inside of the film; it reduces the surface tension of the condensed water vapour, thus avoiding fogging and droplets.Patilux is an ideal film for crops that need intense natural light as a key factor, even in critical seasonal periods of lower solarradiation, allowing early harvesting and high quality of both flowers and horticultural products.Patilite*Advanced Thermic Diffusing Light Film, features a special structure of gas filled tiny cells within the thickness of the film. Thecombination of an EVA Copolymer as a base material allows extraordinary results in the greenhouse climate control. Patilitestotal light transmission is very high but at the same time it acts as a barrier to the short IR (sun radiation) and more so againstthe long IR (soil/plant radiation). Patilite enhances the growth & fruit bearing properties of plants because of the combinationof the diffused sunlight and the reduction of temperature changes. Both actions spur a well balanced growth & an extensionof the production period avoiding sunburn, while water needs are reduced as well as phytopatological damages.Water Saving: There is a verified reduction of 30-40% in hydroponics system.High thermal effect, absorption between 7 & 13m.Other Films Available- White Polythene, Green/White Polythene, Nicotarp.

About Us!Colm Warren Polyhouses Ltd (C.W.P. Ltd) has been in business for over 35 yearsnow. We manufacture, supply and build Greenhouse structures. The strength, adaptability and ease of construction of our structures is apparent in the widevariety of uses our structures are put tothey are used in the horticultural, agricul-tural fields, garden centres, fish farms, archaeological sites, waste packaging, store sheds, aircraft, boat storage etc.

ManufacturingC.W.P. Ltd uses the latest in computer aided machinery in ourmanufacturing process, thus giving us greater accuracy, andbetter quality control over our structures. The result is a highquality, competitively priced product for our customer.

ConstructionThe construction site may require some degree of preparation before it is suitable forbuilding on. Generally a gentle slope from end to end can normally be accommodatedwithout major adjustment to the structure. A sideways slope will generally cause prob-lems. It is recommended that a level site is preferable. Adaptation can be made to theframework for an uneven site but is less satisfactory.

Prior to the start of construction the ground will need to be prepared by the customer. This ground preparation depends on the type of structure that will be installed. Thecost of getting a site ready is extra to any structure costs. Concrete and other hireequipment are all extra. What is required for construction is discussed in greater detailwhen we know what the job will entail.Weather conditions can severely affect progress and winter daylight hours also reducethe work time available. It is preferable to arrange building during Spring, Summer andearly Autumn. For unusual circumstances, structures can be modified to suit individual

    requirements.

Planning ServiceWe recommend that advice on planning permission issought from your Local Planning office, before ordering. Wecan supply drawings to help in your application for planning,

there is a cost factor involved but this can be refunded if anorder is placed with us.
