Art Nouveau, Liberty, Modern Style,Jugendstil are some of the differentnames used around the world to definethe same style which grew in Europe andin the U.S.A. at the turn of the century.Liberty (from the name of the owner of afurniture firm in London) is the term usedcommonly in Italy. It is also called floralstyle, because of its salient characteris-tics: its curved line of vegetable inspira-tion, stylized and allusively symbolic, usedin asymmetrical and bidimensional deco-rations.This style created in Europe an originaland unitary artistic atmosphere; it realizeda synthesis of arts outside their traditionalacademic hierarchies; it supported a pointof contact of art with modern civilizationand with industrial production; though withingenuous faith it stirred a large socialproblem to let art become a commonlegacy.Pointing to a total integration of art ineveryday life, Art Nouveau involved everyfield, from architecture to furnishing, fromgraphics to the design of the smallestutensil.It is from this point of view that AntonellaCastelli created this wonderful tarot deck,in which she was able to join the mystery

Introduction to the CartomancyMethod

A brief method for cards reading is includ-ed for those who are not familiar with tarotor cartomancy, in order to allow anyone toget in touch with these cards. We adviseanyway a deeper study to appreciatecompletely the magic and the tradition oftarots.Tarots are a tool to know the future, thepeople around us and even ourselves. Todo this it is necessary to lay the cards in aspecific way, called reading key and tointerpret them according to their meaning.Before beginning to read it is then neces-sary to understand the meaning of everycard, 22 major Arcana and 56 minorArcana.

The Road to the Solution

This reading key is very simple and it isgenerally used to answer a very specific

question. First of all let the Consultantshuffle the deck and, when You are surehe has mixed it properly, ask him to cut itwith his left hand (with his right one if heis left-handed). Then get the cards andarrange them as shown in the figure onpage 2.The first card represents the quality of theConsultant, related to the question hewants to be answered. The second cardrepresents the curses that these qualitieshide, while the third one represents theopportunities they offer. The fourth cardrepresents the challenge the Consultantwill have to accept to obtain his answer.The fifth represents a question that willhave to be studied deeply in future andthe sixth is the burden to bring to find theanswer. The seventh card represents atask to apply oneself to and the eighthgives a new point of view of the problem.The ninth represents the solution to thequestion.

Major Arcana0 - the Fool. This card representsstrangeness, infantilism, detachment fromearthly worries, holidays and even mad-ness.I - the Magician. This card representsability, astuteness, diplomacy, spirit of ini-

Art Nouveau, Liberty, Stile floreale, ModernStyle, Jugendstil sono le varie denomina-zioni, diverse da nazione a nazione, di unostesso stile fiorito in Europa e negli StatiUniti intorno al 1900, particolarmente nelcampo delle arti applicate e dellarchitettu-ra.Liberty (dal nome del proprietario di unaditta di arredamento a Londra) il terminecorrente in Italia. anche chiamato stilefloreale per via del suo carattere saliente:la linea curva, di ispirazione vegetale, sti-lizzata e allusivamente simbolica, svolta indecorazioni asimmetriche e bidimensiona-li.Questo stile ha creato in Europa un climaartistico originale e unitario, ha realizzatouna sintesi delle arti fuori dalle loro tradi-zionali gerarchie accademiche, ha propu-gnato un incontro dellarte con la civiltmoderna e la produzione industriale, haagitato (sia pure con ingenua fiducia) unvasta problematica sociale per fare dellar-te un patrimonio di tutti.Mirando a una integrazione totale dellartenella vita, lArt Nouveau invest tutti icampi, dallarchitettura allarredamento,dalla grafica al pi piccolo oggetto duso. in questottica che Antonella Castelli haideato questo splendido mazzo di Tarocchi,

Metodo cartomantico

Per tutti coloro che sono poco familiari coni Tarocchi o con la cartomanzia, inseriamodi seguito un accenno al metodo per la let-tura delle carte, in modo da permettere achiunque di cominciare a usare questecarte. Vi consigliamo per un maggioreapprofondimento, al fine di apprezzareappieno la magia e la tradizione deiTarocchi.I Tarocchi sono uno strumento per cono-scere il futuro, le persone che ci circonda-no e anche noi stessi. Per poter far questobisogna disporre le carte in un modo spe-cifico, detto chiave di lettura, e interpretarele varie carte alla luce dei loro significati.Prima di poter affrontare tale lettura per-tanto necessario conoscere bene i signifi-cati di tutte le carte, dei 22 Arcani maggio-ri e dei 56 Arcani minori.

La Strada della Soluzione

Questa chiave di lettura molto semplice eserve a trovare una risposta a una doman-da specifica. Per prima cosa fate mischiareil mazzo alla persona che vuole sapere larisposta; quando siete sicuri che abbiamischiato bene fatele tagliare il mazzo conla mano sinistra (con la destra per i manci-ni). A questo punto prendete le carte e dis-ponetele come mostrato nella figura apagina 2.

La prima carta rappresenta le qualit delConsultante in relazione alla cosa che sivuole conoscere. La seconda carta rappre-senta le difficolt che queste qualit com-portano mentre la terza rappresenta lepossibilit che esse aprono. La quartacarta rappresenta la sfida che ilConsultante dovr affrontare per avere lasua risposta. La quinta rappresenta unaquestione che rimarr da approfondire e lasesta il fardello che bisogna portare pertrovare la risposta. La settima carta rap-presenta un compito da portare a terminee lottava d un nuovo punto di vista delproblema in questione. La nona carta rap-presenta la soluzione alla domanda posta.

Tambin llamadoestilo floral a causa de su carcter relevan-te: la lnea curva, de inspiracin vegetal,estilizada y alusivamente simblica, curvasen decoracin asimtrica y bidimensional.Este estilo ha creado en Europa un climaartstico original y unitario, ha realizadouna sntesis del arte fuera de la tradicionaljerarqua acadmica, ha propugnado unencuentro del arte con la civilizacinmoderna y la produccin industrial, ha agi-tado (con una ingenua fe) una vasta pro-blemtica social para hacer del arte unpatrimonio de todos.Mirando hacia una integracin total delarte en la vida, el Art Nouveau abarctodos los campos, desde la arquitectura ala decoracin, desde la pintura al mspequeo objeto de uso corriente. Aconsejamos unamayor profundizacin, con el fin de apre-ciar ms intensamente la magia y la tradi-cin del Tarot.El Tarot es un instrumento para conocer elfuturo, las personas que nos rodean eincluso a nosotros mismos. Para poderrealizar sto debemos disponer las cartasde un modo especfico, llamado clave delectura, e interpretar las diversas cartas ala luz de su significado.Antes de poder afrontar tal lectura es portanto necesario conocer bien el significadode todas las cartas, de los 22 arcanosmayores y de los 56 arcanos menores.

El Camino de la Solucion

Esta clave de lectura es muy sencilla ysirve para encontrar respuesta a una pre-

Lo primero que se debehacer es hacer barajar la baraja a la per-sona que quiere conocer la respuesta;cuando est seguro de haber mezcladobien se le debe hacer cortar la baraja conla mano izquierda (la derecha para loszurdos). Ein Lsungsweg

Dieser Leseschlssel ist recht einfach unddient zur Beantwortung eine konkreteFrage. Als erstes werden die Karten vonder fragenden Person gemischt; wenn Ihrsicher seid, da sie die Karten gutgemischt hat, soll sie mit der linken Hand(Linkshnder mit der rechten Hand) einenStapel vom Deck abheben. Dann nehmt Ihrdie Karten und legt sie nach dem in derAbbildung gezeigten Muster (Seite 2).Die erste Karte steht fr die Einstellung

des Fragenden im Verhltnis zu der Sache,die er wissen mchte.
