• Hotels sees double digit tariff growth after 9 years Occupancies have expanded for 4 consecutive years and hit a 9 year high of 65% in FY2017. Occupancies continue to rise Further in FY18.Rising Spending power coupled with proliferation of low cost carriers has enabled increased domestic travel. Industry has entered a strong uptrend that may last for few years Most Indian travellers plan to spend Rs 1 lakh this summer Over 14% growth in foreign tourist arrivals, Foreign tourists arrivals hit new high of 1 crore.

• Occupancy growth has improved as demand outpaced supply in most Indian markets. Expect a double digit improvement in tariff.

• According to HRAEI, investment in the upcoming 5-star, 4-star and3star hotel projects would be approximately Rs 3,500-4,000 crore. The target audience of these hotels would also include business clients, IT sector and transit passengers Tariffs in general across India are now likely to rise for the next four to five years as new supply is ebbing. HVS said the demand-supply equation today and in the next 48-60 months is more than likely to present an opportunity for substantial average rate enhancement. The overall average (across segments) ARRs was Rs 5,658 in 2016-17,arresting the constant fall in rates seen since 2010-11
