Finishing Check that no diagnostic trouble codes have been stored during the repair. Test drive the car and check that the engine function is OK.

2012 Ford F150 3,5L EcoBoost Charger Connected to Negative Battery Terminal NOTE: When charging the vehicle battery by connecting the charger to the negative battery terminal is necessary, such as when using a combination battery charger and battery tester/analyzer, like the GR 1 190 V3.0 Intelligent Diagnostic Charger, the Body Control Module (BCM) will not immediately update the battery state of charge. In this instance, after charging, you must CARRY OUT the Battery Monitoring System (BMS) Reset using the scan tool. Connect the positive (red) charger clamp to the positive battery post. Connect the negative (black) charger clamp to the negative battery post. Charge the battery according to the battery charger owner's literature. After charging is complete, carry out the Battery Monitoring System (BMS) Reset using the scan tool. Charger Connected to Engine or Chassis Ground Connect the positive (red) charger clamp to the positive battery post. NOTE: The negative charger clamp must be connected to an unpainted chassis surface or a solid engine component such as a generator mount or engine lifting eye. Connect the negative (black) charger clamp to an engine or chassis ground. Charge the battery according to the battery charger owner's literature.

• PROGRAMMING THE POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE

• IMPORTANT NOTE: Before replacing the PCM for a failed driver, control circuit or ground circuit, be sure to check the related component/circuit integrity for failures not detected due to a double fault in the circuit. Most PCM driver/control circuit failures are caused by internal failure to components (i.e. 12-volt pull-ups, drivers and ground sensors). These failures are difficult to detect when a double fault has occurred and only one DTC has set.

• NOTE: If the PCM and the SKREEM are replaced at the same time, program the VIN into the PCM first. All vehicle keys will then need to be replaced and programmed to the new SKREEM.

• The SKREES Secret Key is an I.D. code that is unique to each SKREES. This code is programmed and stored in the SKREEM, engine controller and transponder chip (ignition key). When replacing the PCM it is necessary to program the secret key into the PCM.

• NOTE: After replacing the PCM, you must reprogram pinion factor.

• Turn the ignition on (transmission in park/ neutral).

• Use the DRBIII(R) and select THEFT ALARM, SKREEM then MISCELLANEOUS.

• Select PCM REPLACED.

• Enter secured access mode by entering the vehicle four-digit PIN.

• NOTE: If three attempts are made to enter the secure access mode using an incorrect PIN, secured access mode will be locked out for one hour. To exit this lockout mode, turn the ignition to the run position for one hour then enter the correct PIN. (Ensure all accessories are turned off. Also monitor the battery state and connect a battery charger if necessary).

• Press ENTER to transfer the secret key (the SKREEM will send the secret key to the PCM).

Remove wheels. The pistons on the electro-mechanical parking brake must be driven back using the (VAS 5051).
