CONSULTATION EN

CARDIOLOGIE

Classic triad: episodic headache, sweating, and palpitations Anxiety Dyspnea Chest, abdominal or flank pain Nausea and vomiting Tremor Flushing Dizziness Blurred vision Paresthesia Persistent vasoconstriction declines the blood volume leading to orthostatic hypotension Hypermetabolism caused by catecholamines: Elevation in body temperature (also impaired heat dissipation due to cutaneous vasoconstriction), weakness, fatigue, weight loss. Some patients have diarrhea, others have constipation.

Hyperglycaemic actions of catecholamines: Liver (transient increase of glucose output

via beta receptor stimulation) Pancreas (inhibition of insulin secretion, via alpha

receptor stimulation) Muscles: main effect = glucose uptake inhibition
