Cour de District.

La cour de district qui sigeaitici de temps autre depuis un mois,sest ajourne vendredi. C'tait leterme civil, mais quelques accussont consenti tre jugs par lacour plutt que d'attendre le termecriminel. L'un d'eux, Walker Har-riaon, qui avait assailli un officierdans l'exercice de ses fonctions,s'est entendu condamner uneamende de $100 ou un an de pri-son. Il a de quoi rflchir sur lechoix faire des deux peines. Troisvoleurs, Joe Delhonde, EdwardPorter et George Williams, ont tcondamns chacun six mois d'em-prisonnement.

Au civil, on a plaid quelques af-faires, dont la plus intressantetait celle de la Maurepas Land andLumber Company contre diffren-tes personnes qui taient depuislongtemps tablies sur les terresdont cette compagnie a fait rcem-ment l'acquisition en bloc. Cespauvres gens, peu au courant deslois, se croyaient l chez eux et voi-la que tout d'un coup on vient les
